I am a firefighter in New Mexico and wear the name band of Lt. Wallace. I didn't know him, but as a brother firefighter, I know that he was doing a great service to his community. I will remember him and the other victims of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Lt. Robert Wallace was an extremely brave man and our country is indebt to him for his valor and courage under the most horrific circumstances. As a person (whom we would call "Big Bob") he was caring, generous, and kind. He always seemed to welcome the neighborhood kids into his house regardless of how noisey we were or how many of us were there. Though it is now almost three years since the attacks, I still think about how many people perished and how all of them have affected us in some way. Bob will never be forgotten. Though I don't see the family much anymore, may God bless them all..Nancy, Jeanine, Bobby, Danny, and Alex...and may God Bless Bob and Nancy's first grandchild into the world in the next few months.I know he is watching down on them.He went against all odds and helped save 3,000 lives and we should never forget him for being a hero to not only those in New York, but to the world.

I am Bobby's sister. I came across this beautiful site by accident and was grateful to see my brother being honored. Thank you to those that have written about Bob.

Bob loved being a firefighter! My brother was a wonderful man with a good heart and a great sense of humor. There is such a void in our lives now that he is gone and it will never be filled.

His grandson, whom I get to watch often has his spirit and his jovial personality. I talk to the baby about his grandfather quite often. I beleive that Bobby is his special guardian angel.

We will never forget Bobby and I can still hear his laugh and will hold on to all of the wonderful memories that we have of him from childhood to adulthood.
