Edward Murphy
Age: 42
Occupation: Stock Broker
Worked for: Cantor Fitzgerald
Originally from: Clifton, NJ
Resided in: Clifton, NJ

Edward was the youngest brother of my parish priest, Father Dan Murphy. His death at such a young age has left his family heartbroken, as all these deaths have done to so many. Fr Dan has been an inspiration to us all during these past horrible weeks. I ask for your prayers for Fr Dan Murphy and his family members, especially for his widowed mother who has lost her youngest son, whom she adored. Edward's last thoughts were of her..he placed a call to her on his cell phone just after the South Tower was hit. He was on the 105th floor, and they weren't sure exactly what had happened but they knew they couldn't go down the stairs. We're told he sounded calm and was waiting for help which obviously never came. I am in the choir at church and we sang for Edward's memorial service. It was attended by over 1500 people and Fr Dan's homily was printed in the New York Times because of its eloquence. He calls for justice without vengeance, love and not hatred, and for our country to get on with the American way of life to honor those who died for it. Slan agus beannacht agaibh..Caitie
