Some of us were luckier than others. Those whose friends escaped, or who were injured but lived, those who took a different flight, those who were not in Manhattan that morning. But each one of us weep the same tears, share the grief. We have all been marked by the awful events of September 11th, and we know that things will never be the same. DonĀ’t stay silent. Please help grow this Irish Tribute with your thoughts, stories, poems, songs, prayers ... This is not a discussion board: There is no shortage of such places for people to air their many views on the calamitous events of September 11, 2001, and their continuing aftermath. This is a site dedicated to the memory of those who died on that day. It is not a debating forum. Please respect it.

It is Sept 10, 2004. It is a beautiful morning in Southern NJ where I live, not unlike the morning of Sept 11, 2001. Some differences...a bit warmer. I am sitting at my desk wondering how I will get through tomorrow and even today. I am one of the lucky ones. I was in tower two on the 31 st floor and got out. Not a day goes by without me thinking and remebering something about that day. Always more difficult around the anniversary date...this year even more so as I had business reasons to be in lower Manhattan yesterday and in particular one block north of the site. Decided to visit the site...something that I have been reluctant to do, but have done over the past three years. More activity then normal....different activity. Not just tourists...more folks making "demonstrations" either verbally or in some other fashion. Seemed to be carrying on with their on vow of never forgetting. Everything rushes back into consciousness...find myself retracing steps taken that day...don't know why. Totally confused feelings and emotions return that had subsided or receded over the three years. Thank you Lord for sparing me..but why me...why not the others...Suspect it will be a very quiet and contemplative weekend.

The hole you left is not empty anymore. It is a moment remembered in innocence. When fathers,mothers,friends and lovers said goodbye and took what was a country with them. Never will we have our believe in invincibility back. Because that is what you gave us, a realization that what we love, and savoring each moment we have is what we can still do. And that standing up and making an America that remembers you and spreads light is what we are supposed to do. It will never be alright you left us. And a part of our hearts will always stay with you.

I pray for the one's who lost theiir life.That they are beyond pain in Heaven.I pray for any family that lost a love one or that was touched by this tragedy.I pray that the families got the help that ,they so deserved.

I will never forget the tv coming on and seeing the plane hit the tower. I pray for all the people who lost family and friends that day. I also thank God for all the heros of that day.

I'm in Dublin, it's September 15th 2004 and I am still haunted by September 11th. I didn't know anybody who died or anybody who was caught up in the horror but watching the second plane hit live on Sky TV in our companies boardroom is something I will never forget. Since that day I have a fascination with all things to do with that day, pictures, books, websites because I feel that if I learn all I can about it and read about as many of the victims I can, that I will feel better. But I don't. I don't know how people have got on with their lives but it inspires me in every decision I make because if the families and friends of the victims of September 11 can come out the other side of this incomprehensible tragedy...I can surely face my own demons.
